I went a week ago. Wasn't given the option. Try giving them a call.
I would think so
No, they accept credit cards. Minimally Visa, Mastercard, American Express. Haven't tried Discover.
expect to pay $$$$$$$$ sadly last visit was a tad like Peter luger resting on laurels and raising prices
Wonderful Safe Haven For Chefs In NYC I Am Chang_media On Instagram I Run With The Baddest Chefs East And West Coast #Ruizing!!
I highly recommend this restaurant. The ambiance was amazing and it had a real old school feel. It is a little frustrating that they don't take reservations but the food is well worth the wait. The chicken parmesan is one of the best in the city
One of my favorite Italians in NY. Very authentic and excellent food. Staff a bit rude though. They wouldn’t let you seat unless everyone from your party shows up even if half of the tables are yet available on a Tuesday night. Yet, I keep coming for a reason.
My friend and I ate here last Sunday and again this Sunday. We never eat at the same restaurant two weeks in a row, so this should say something about the food here. Sure, parking sucks. Sure, it's expensive. Yeah, the owner isn't the friendliest restaurateur in the city, but that's not why you come here. You don't come for the pictures on the wall, or the ambiance of the restaurant or even the service (which is very good but not overwhelming) You come here for the best damn Italian food outside of Italy. You come here for home made pasta and cheese. You come here because every bite of food you eat will be perfect. I look forward to going back as often as my pockets will allow me.
Definitely one of the best red sauces Italian pasta I’ve had for awhile. Don’t take it from me though. The walls are plastered with celebrities to politician e.g. the big O.Barrack :)
A little overpriced for the quality of the meal BUT I love that you can always get seated (after an easy 10-20 min wait at the door) . Friendly and quick service . Flexible with pasta requests! The vibe / atmosphere is one of a kind- feels very oldschool and confident. Love their spaghetti and meatballs. Delicious cheesecake . Wish the house wine by the glass was a little less expensive ! Oh well, just order the bottle. ;)
Been dying to try this place. Got a table easily before 7pm. The chicken parmesan was out of this world as we're the meatballs!!!
Threat family place great food great service
One of the best pasta I've ever had. Great classic Italian
My husband and I drove an hour from upstate to experience Emilio's. We arrived exactly at the dinner rush☹. The wait was about 30 minutes. It was worth the wait! Best pasta ever. A family restaurant that made us feel so welcomed. Lourdes is the best owner/hostess.
Food is great. If you like restaurants that are not fancy, owner joining patrons around their table and fabulous Italian food, this is the place to go. When dropped off I thought I made a location mistake, not much curb appeal, Take it from me, go in!
I'm glad this restaurant survived and has outdoor seating along Houston Street. The food is excellent but not cheap. Service is attentive.
The food was great, but a little pricey. The service was terrible. Our waiter was very rude, and he did not speak English well or speak any Spanish.
The owner greets you in what I'm guessing is typical NYC attitude but our waiter was great and the food amazing! Best ravioli I've ever eaten.
Just, wow. So glad I wandered in last week. I live in the area and this has made it onto my list of favorites. Can’t wait to return tonight. Great service. I felt like a pasta eating gangster lady.
It was a slow night. After a previous attempt to have dinner here we were quickly seated. Our server was very nice and made conversation with us. The food also came out rather quickly. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and the shrimp and linguini. They were both delicious. The pasta and sauce were very good. It is a pricey place. Appetizers are in the $20 range and $30+ for pasta dishes. It is delicious. And they have fun wallpaper in the restroom.
Delicious food!👍 Friendly owner and staff.♥️
I really enjoyed going hear. The experience was great they served bread at the table just to hold you over for the time being for your food. I got the penne alla vodka, and it was one of the best I've had in a long time. Also, before or after your done eating/eating for your food you could look at all the celebrities who have went to Emilio's Ballato. All, in all would definitely recommend going hear even though it is pricey.
really great food, and cool atmosphere. it is a bit pricey, but i went with family who were visiting and it was a fun nyc experience for everyone!
Place is old and stuffy. Great for grandmothers.
As always a fantastic treat ,a fortunate event the have the opportunity to dine here
Had the best gallery dinner ever here last winter in their cool looking back room! Can't wait to try an outdoor one this summer
. Great food, great service. Old fashion place. Emilio and his wife always there .20 min wait for the table not bad.
Awesome food. Worth every second of the wait. The wait staff went above and beyond and the food was to die for.
Must visit! Will go again for sure.
Simply the best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten in. The owner sits to watch you eat. He's an amazing guy. I can't say enough about this place
Been in Italia, that is what it feels like. I had Lunch it was fantastic! Good food, good service, good ambiance, great wines. Emilio the gentleman that own the restaurant was seating at one of the table in the front as we walked in he was the first to well come us. A real New York Italian restaurant.
Have dined there several times. One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Food and service are great. Never had a bad meal or bad service here.
Awkward waiting area as it is a narrow space and the line spills over so people are hovering over tables. Cool, ketsch spot. Make sure everyone is there as they won't seat incomplete parties. The food is good, generous portions and very friendly servers. I recommend the sausage for sure!
This place was recommended to me by a friend so I did not look them up beforehand. The restaurant is small and very cozy. They had a good mix of italian and pop songs playing.I was a bit surprised at the menu prices when I was seated since most of the pastas started around $30. I asked the waiter to recommend his favorite and was told to try the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. I was a bit skeptical about ordering a $30 bolognese but i went ahead and by golly it was the best bolognese i have ever tasted!. Lets begin with the noodles. The tagliatelle was large and in charge and I loved it. Cooked just a bit under al dente, there was a good amount of chew and flavor. The sauce. My goodness. i have never had a sauce like this. The beef/pork/veal kind of melted into the red sauce. It was so smooth and so full of flavor! Definitely check this place out for a fantastic pasta. I heard the lines at dinner are long, but I went at lunch and did not have to wait for a table.
I was there on December 16, 2019 after I went to my ophthalmologist for a visit.I wasn't able to see properly after I had pupil dilation. I told the server named Hassan that I wasn't able to read the menu and to please order a spaghetti meatballs with a sparkling water and espresso for dessert.Spaghetti meatballs were ok, small portion a 6 out of 10.When the bill came it was $51 dollars plus tax, I paid and I left, but when I got home and recovered my sight I look at bill and realized they chargeLUNCH PRICES$32 spaghetti meatballs (I can deal with this)$12 San Pellegrino sparkling water (WTF)$7 Espresso (Really??)A Total shame. A Total tourist trap
The most insane Bolognese ever!! Meatballs that melt in your mouth!! Don’t even try to get reservations - they don’t have a phone. Just walk in, wait, and when you get your table - enjoy :)
Nice tagliatelle alla bolognese, ok ravioli, mediocre caprese (low quality olives, not the best mozzarella), fine house wine but everything way overpriced. Fooled by prices on Google. All pastas about $30, small caprese salad for $26, house wine $18, bottle of sparkling water $12. We came early and almost empty restaurant. We were seated in the back room way back towards a wall of untidy cardboard boxes. Standard of food, cleanliness, interior does not justify these high prices. Felt like a tourist trap. But guys serving were nice.
Good job I priceded 👍
Delicious Italian food. And great atmosphere. Date night 👍
You’re paying for the atmosphere in the back. Very old school. Prices are insane though $30 for spaghetti and $38 for chicken parm and $16 beer. It was decent food though.
Back room corporate dinner never disappoints. This is one of those locations that you really don't want to tell your friends about because you want it all to yourself. Owner is always at the front table. Tell him how much you loved it.
Veal chop parm! 🤤 Top three Italian spots in NYC.
Amazing food and service. A must go to for Italian food in nyc.
Cozy, great food! Photos everywhere of all the celebrities that have been there are cool to see.
Food was delicious! It was nice to see all the pictures on the wall of all the celebrities that have visited throughout the years.
Overrated. Don't waste your time trying to get a table at this restaurant. The food is just ok and the prices are outrageous
Amazing atmosphere, tasty food and good portions. Wish the menu had more stuff in it tho
BEST Veal / Chicken Parm and Clam Linguini....in NYC (also the only dishes we tried so there is room for more.Venue (5/5) Old school venue with New York Italian charm. The past couple times I've visited the owner was there entertaining his patrons/friends. That's a plus having the owner watch his venue. There are photos of the owners with his celebrity guests. It's fun to look at. Good for all types: small and large groups, dates, casual or business. Food (5/5) pricey side yet worth it. BEST Parmesan and the clam linguini. Service (3/5) adequate service
This place was amazing - in my opinion, the best Italian restaurant in New York City. It's hard to get a table, so plan in advance - it's not small (by NYC standards), but small enough that between its hot reputation and medium-ish size, there's virtually not chance you can walk in and find availability. It has an old school New York City vibe, which matches it's authentic Italian cuisine. Can't wait to come back.
Ways too expensive. Didn't impress me at all. Ans the service nive tryna be, didn't seem to be so welcoming, as if they were just nice because they must to. And while we were eating, there were people who seemed to know the owner, kept looking and staring over while we eat
On holiday from the UK and visited last night on a recommendation. Very over priced $150 including taxes for 3 plates of pasta (small portions) 1 glass of wine and a beer. I liked the decor and photos, but would suggest that possibly a clean higher then eye level may be necessary as there was dust on the water pipes in one of the toilets
Just a little taste of heaven.
Easy to see why so many celebs adorn the walls in photos with the owner. Beautiful, authentic, and all about the substance over style. Super friendly service and worth the extra few dollars. Will visit every time we come to new york.
Everything was delicious great service the sauce on the chicken parmigiana is so tasty whit bread omg
